Privacy Policy: hl-gmail-bulk
Effective 8 November 2026.
Who This Is For (Population: One)
hl-gmail-bulk is a personal tool. It is used by one person: the owner of the Gmail account it connects to. No one else can sign in to it, and it offers no service to the public.
What It Can Do To Your Mail (Spoiler: Very Little)
With the owner's permission (Google's gmail.modify scope), hl-gmail-bulk can only:
- find messages in the owner's mailbox that match a search the owner chose, by their message IDs;
- archive those messages (remove them from the Inbox);
- mark those messages as read;
- add or remove the owner's own labels on those messages; and
- undo one of its own earlier changes (put messages back in the Inbox, mark them unread again, or restore labels).
It cannot send, draft, forward, trash or delete mail, and it does not read message subjects, senders, bodies or attachments. It works only in the owner's own mailbox.
What It Keeps
To make every change undoable, it records the message IDs it changed, the counts, the owner's search query and the label IDs involved. It does not record subjects, senders, bodies or attachments. These records are stored only on the owner's own computer and are kept until the owner deletes them.
What It Shares (Nothing. Really.)
No data is sold, shared or transferred to anyone. There are no ads, no analytics and no third parties, other than Google itself, which provides the mailbox.
Google API Services
hl-gmail-bulk's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
